What is Power Play Boot Camp?

Power Play Boot Camp is a four week, outdoor group
fitness program for women and men who
are seriously committed to improving
their health and fitness. The
beautiful outdoors becomes our
playground. You will enjoy fresh
air, sunshine, forest trails
and the ocean. These classes,
instructed by Power Play specialists,
are a refreshing change from
sweaty gym workouts and long boring sessions on the treadmill, and you will
be amazed at the incredible results
you can get with a minimum of
equipment!
Why We Are Different from Other Boot Camps!
We invite you to come experience the difference for yourself with a free trial pass!... Most importantly we have TWO very experienced and motivational instructors running most of our classes. This means more individual attention and instruction to each of our participants than is provided with most boot camps. Our instructor team has a combined almost 30 years experience in the fitness industry! Certifications include personal training, group fitness, registered holistic nutritionist, wellness coach, and more. As a result, you will notice a unique holistic approach within our camps including nutrition instruction that will guarantee your best possible results from each 4 week camp. Also realize, that our sessions are not wimpy "aerobics class outdoors" type sessions using light barbie weights that some boot camps offer. Our back to basics yet playful approach incorporates a greater variety of equipment and locations within your area. We have made it our goal to offer the BEST boot camp program in B.C.
Program
schedule & location
Bootcamp sessions are one hour
long and take place three days
per week for
four weeks. Locations may vary
but will all
be within the Surrey / Delta / White
Rock areas. Depending upon the particular camp you enroll in, it's possible that some sessions will
take place in a forest setting,
while others will be on the
beach or on a track.
In the event of extreme weather,
your instructor will determine
whether the class will be cancelled
or take place at an indoor location.
In the event of a class cancellation
due to the weather, you will
be provided with a coupon for
another boot camp class.
Who can join?
Don't be intimidated by the term "boot camp!" Men and women of all ages and
abilities are welcome to join
our camps but you should be able to at least alternate walking and light jogging over 1 mile. In general, you
will find yourself in a very
supportive and encouraging group
that includes someone who is
in similar shape to you. Each
day and week will get progressively
more challenging in order to
help you reach new levels of
fitness. However, everyone will
be able to work at their own
pace throughout the program.
What kind of results
can I expect?
Each
person’s results
will vary. Typical results from
a Power Play Boot Camp series
include increased cardiovascular
fitness and endurance (up to
25% improvement), increased strength
(up to 25% improvement), improved
muscle tone and definition, and
enhanced flexibility. It is not
uncommon for participants to
lose about 3% bodyfat or 5-8
pounds of bodyfat in just four
weeks.
Each
participant will receive a
body composition test and fitness
evaluation at the beginning and end of the boot camp program. It doesn’t
matter where you start from,
only that you improve! Your results
are for your own comparison purposes
only and will not be shared with
others (unless of course you’re
so proud that you tell everyone
yourself!)

What types of activities
and exercises are involved?
Our classes will incorporate
a variety of effective outdoor
workout activities.Sessions many include activities such as
a beach or forest obstacle course,
power walking or short distance
jogging, hiking,
stair or hill intervals, core training and strength training circuits utilizing equipment such as medicine balls, bands, stability balls, and other types of equipment. All
classes begin and end with stretching
and include some abdominal/lower
back training. Our certified
instructors always provide instruction
on proper form, technique and
overall safety.
What you won't find with Power Play Boot Camps is weenie outdoor aerobics class style training using light Barbie weights that some boot camps offer!
What you will find is highly efficient workouts that bring you accelerated results. You will be amazed at what you can achieve with our “back-to-basics” yet playful approach in just four weeks!
What should I bring?
Besides a well rested body,
a positive attitude, and a sense
of adventure(!), you will need
to bring a towel or yoga mat
and water. A good
pair of jogging shoes is important.
Dress in layers so that you can
add or remove layers as needed.

Directions to Meeting
Locations:
You will receive
a complete Bootcamp calendar
and schedule at your orientation
session. Bootcamp sessions will
take place at a variety of local
locations including the following:
Surrey/Delta Locations...
Delta
Watershed Park : From the intersection
at 64 th Avenue and 120 th
Street ( Surrey), travel west
on 64 th and drive to the bottom
of the hill. On the left hand
side, you will see the main
entrance to the forest and
space for parking. Be careful
when slowing down and turning
into the parking, as 64 th
can be quite busy at times!
(Hint: You may find it safest
to pull off to the right side
and wait for all cars to pass
before attempting to cross.)
Bear Creek Track :
Travel on King George Hwy to
88 th Street. At the intersection,
turn onto 88 th traveling east.
At the first set of lights, turn
right and drive straight toward
the parking area. Meet on the
track at the bleachers.
Crescent
Beach :
Follow Crescent Road all the
way to the beach area. (Crescent
Road turns into Beecher Street).
Park on any of the side streets.
Meet on the beach in the area
in front of the public washrooms.
